Summary

Our Insights & Strategy team is focused on leveraging data-driven human insights to fuel our strategic and creative process – with the goal of making work that connects powerfully, incites action, and builds brands and businesses. As a Junior Brand Strategist, you’ll help to create brand and creative strategies, help drive integrated Brand Idea development, work with multidisciplinary teams, and deliver solid client work.

What you do in a day:

  • Inspire smart strategy and compelling creative by uncovering and translating data-driven human insights
  • Quickly grasp and share a keen understanding of client issues, challenges and audiences
  • Serve as the voice of the target and ensure that strategies, brand ideas, content, and messages resonate
  • Develop Brand Idea briefs, brief creative teams, review creative work
  • Build brand strategies and positioning recommendations
  • Assist with conducting Discovery – leveraging desk research (MRI, Meltwater, Mintel), stakeholder interviews, and other primary research
  • Land the plane! Simplify findings and recommendations to create compelling stories; ensure insights are actionable
  • Partner with integrated teams to create Activation Plans
  • Contribute to new business efforts
  • Establish solid relationships with key members of client teams
  • Provide proactive strategic counsel – ‘think on your feet’ without disrupting strategic direction
  • Partner with Performance Media and Digital Strategy to ensure work meets KPIs

Must-have personal and professional skills:

  • 1-3 years agency experience – including planning experience
  • Cultural omnivore able to identify trends, connect dots and tell the story
  • Ability to identify and interpret cultural signifiers
  • Desire to go beyond the ‘what’ to the ‘why’
  • Ability to empathize with cultural tribes
  • Flexible and collaborative – able to partner with diverse personalities and teams
  • Strong writer and communicator – able to develop arguments to influence clients and teams, facilitate productive meetings
